Norbert James Jutton, 93, of Madison, passed away peacefully at Talmadge Park Nursing Home on Jan. 27. He was born in Syracuse, New York, on June 10, 1921, to the late Bert and Jessie (Olcott) Jutton.

He served as an airplane mechanic in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942 to 1946, earning the rank of sergeant. Before retiring, he worked as a custodian in the Cato-Meridian School System. Norbert loved to garden, work jigsaw puzzles, travel, fish, and spend time with family.

He is survived by his four children, Sharon (Nils) Gyllensten of Madison with whom he resided from 2002 to 2013; Douglas (Rebecca) Jutton of New Milford; Jim (Joyce) Jutton of Bethel; and Karen (Ray) Cantatore of Tuckahoe, New York. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and his former wife Dorothy McCarthy.

He was predeceased by his sister Vaudene Sova, his brother Colin Jutton, and his long-time partner Virginia Vidnansky. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service at Swan Funeral Home in Madison on Feb. 7 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
