12/03/2014 11:00 PMLeonard J. Vetro, 72, of Northford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Nov. 29 at St. Raphael’s Campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Susanne Vetro. Leonard was born in Bridgeport on Oct. 7, 1942, son of the late Angelo and Gina Marino Vetro, Jr.
He worked as a master carpenter for Banton Construction, North Haven, for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who always enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He was the father of Valerie Vetro, John (Lisa) Vetro of Flora City, Florida, and Stephanie Vetro. He was the grandfather of Dale Hettrich, Jr.; Justin, Timothy, and Hope Hettrich; and the late Brittany Hettrich. He was predeceased by his best friend and loyal companion Faith.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Dec. 5 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Dec. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vetro Family, 87 Birchwood Dr., Northford, CT 06472.
