Jacqueline T. Cannon, 69, Clinton

Jacqueline T. Cannon, age 69, passed away on July 7 at her home. She was born on October 10, 1944, in Springfield, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Charles and Anaïs Cannon.

She had resided in Clinton for the past eight years and had graduated from Tech High School in Springfield, and UMass as one of their first chemistry majors. Jackie was employed as a medical and scientific editor for more than 40 years, most recently at Infusion in Haddam. She was a member of many civic and professional organizations.

Jackie was a physics journal editor at a time when the field was dominated by men. She was an adventurous, spirited, world traveler who had many fascinating stories to share. She was an avid fan of Star Trek, Dr. Who, and most passionately LOTR and The Hobbit. She was also a fan of the New York Rangers and Mets, but continued to root for the Red Sox. Jackie was so generous and loyal and will be sadly missed by all who were so blessed to know her. She brought many a smile to those fortunate enough to meet her pride and joy . . . the 1/3rd scale replica of Frodo, which she made completely by her own design and with her hands.

Jackie is survived by her loving cousins, close friends Lynn and Jeff Zelem, Doreen and Glenn Stokes, Matt Jacobson, and numerous others whose lives she touched and enriched.

A memorial service was held at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton, on July 15. Visiting hours were held at the funeral home until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UCONN Foundation Medical Research Fund or Breast Cancer Research. For online tributes and condolences, please visit www.swanfh.com.
