Stan Adelstein, 78, Clinton


Stan Adelstein, age 78, of Clinton, passed away unexpectedly June 20. He was surrounded by his wife and children.

Stan is survived by his wife Donna, sons Ray Leonard, Richie Adelstein, Eric Adelstein, Spenser Adelstein, and Sean Lanagan, and daughter Bonnie Way. He is also survived by his daughters-in-law Brenda Leonard, Stacey Adelstein, and Amy Lanagan; his son-in-law John Way; his grandchildren Bill McCormick, Rosie Leonard, Sadie Adelstein, and Max and Chance Lanagan; his brothers Jim and Eliot Adelstein; and his sister Rita Leeds. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Stan was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a true friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was one of the Founding Fathers of Bob’s Discount Furniture, where he was instrumental in forming Bob’s Reach-Out program and the High School Heroes. He held a seat on the board of the American Red Cross in Massachusetts.

Stan’s favorite thing was spending time with his family. He loved fishing, boating, traveling, gardening, the Red Sox and the Patriots, and following the stock ticker.

Calling hours will be on June 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at his home, 45 Forest Dr., Salem, CT 06420. Swan Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his name to the Massachusetts Red Cross in Dedham, Massachusetts.
