Annette Porrello Anastasio, 83, East Haven


Annette Porrello Anastasio 83, of East Haven, beloved wife of the late Lawrence Anastasio, entered into eternal rest on June 2 in St. Mary’s Hospital.

She was the loving mother of Salvatore (Donna) Anastasio and Jeanne Donarumo, all of East Haven, and Lori-Ann Lucarelli of Naugatuck. She was also the proud grandmother of Andrew (Lizeth) Donarumo, Angela (Jim) Doebrick, Lawrence Donarumo, Fabio Lucarelli. IV, Annie Lucarelli, and Melissa Anastasio. She was the great-grandmother of Emilio Donarumo and Emma Doebrick. She was the sister of Sister Marie Joseph Porrello, O.P., of Columbus,Ohio, and the late Ann-Marie DeMars, Peter, Sebastian, Dominick, Joseph, and Harold Porrello.

Annette was born in New Haven on August 8, 1930, daughter of the late Liborio and Rose Cardonita Porrello. Prior to her retirement, Annette was a registered nurse. She graduated in 1951 from the Hospital of St. Raphael’s School of Nursing, where she worked for many years. She was a member of the Connecticut Council of Catholic Women and the St. Raphael’s Hospital Alumni Association.

Relatives and friends were invited to a parlor service in the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rt. 80), East Haven, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends called June 5 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
