04/23/2014 12:00 PMNicholas John Vergato, age 81, of Tamarac, Florida, formerly of Guilford, passed away on April 17 at Vitas Hospice of Tamarac, Florida. Mr. Vergato was born on July 23, 1932, in New Haven, and was a son of Nicholas and Rose Garguilo Vergato.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Nicholas is survived by his loving daughter Valerie Vergato-Zielinski and twin sons Michael and Christopher Vergato; son-in-law Gary Zielinski; and grandson Eric Zielinski, all of Branford He is also survived by a brother Joseph Vergato and a sister Maryann Bombriant, both of North Carolina.
