Alice Margaret Kadamus, 90, Waterford and Ellenton, Florida


Alice Margaret Kadamus of Waterford and formerly of Ellenton, Florida, and Syracuse, New York, died on March 25 at her residence. She was born on March 23, 1924, in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Anthony and Mary Brisk.

Mrs. Kadamus was a great supporter of education and helping those in need. She worked at Westhill High School in Syracuse, from 1961 to 1982. She was also a hospice volunteer in Ellenton, Florida.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Alexander; children David Kadamus and his wife Pamela of Madison, James Kadamus and his wife Carol of Westerly, Rhode Island, and Crisanne Blackie and her husband Christopher of Old Town, Maine. She is also survived by her brother Daniel Brisk and sister Eugenia Williamson; grandchildren Christopher and his wife Kelly, Benjamin and his wife Katie Kadamus, Teagan and Alex Blackie, Katie and her husband Alex Knote, Laura Kadamus, Taylor and his wife Nadya Dolan, Erin Kadamus, Lyndsay Dolan, and David Kadamus, Jr.; and great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Anna, Olivia, and Josephine.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on March 29 at 9 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Church, 24 Academy St., Madison. Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Rd., Madison, was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alice M. Kadamus Memorial Scholarship Fund to support graduates of Westhill High School in Syracuse, New York, and others seeking college educations in care of David Kadamus, 6 Acorn Rd., Madison, CT 06443.
