Lucille A. Blomberg, 81, Old Saybrook, formerly of Clinton

Blomberg.  She was born in New Haven on July 2, 1931, daughter of the late Michael and Nicoletta (Izzo) Rapuano. Lucille had devoted her life to caring for her family from the age of 13, after her mother’s death, which was always a priority when her children and grandchildren arrived.  Her passions were cooking, dancing, and spending time laughing with friends and family.  Her love of cooking resulted in her becoming the owner of Lucille’s Coffee Shop in Clinton in the 1980s.  Prior to this, she shared her home cooked meals with patrons of the Maple Shade Restaurant and Rexall Pharmacy, also located in Clinton.

She is survived by a son, Eugene M. Blomberg and his wife Jacqueline of Westbrook, as well as two daughters; Julene Braza and husband Edward Braza, Jr., of Westbrook and Cynthia Denslow of Wilton.  She was the loving grandmother of Kevin Braza and wife Shelley of Westbrook, Kelly Braza of Old Saybrook, Michael and Christine Blomberg of Westbrook, and Taylor and Morgan Denslow of Wilton, and the great-grandmother of Kyle Braza of Westbrook.  She is also survived by three brothers; Michael Rapuano of East Haven, Donald Rapuano of Plainfield, and John Rapuano of Hamden.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph Rapuano and Harry Rapuano.

Friends may visit the family at Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main St., Clinton, on Monday, Nov. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Clinton.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
