Anne Genevieve Pothier Creaser, 78, Branford, formerly of West Haven


Anne Genevieve Pothier Creaser, 78, of Branford, formerly of West Haven, died on Oct. 30 in New Haven. She was the wife of 42 years to Edward Creaser. Anne was born in Wedgeport, Nova Scotia, on June 12, 1934, daughter of the late Timothy and Anita Ann Boudreau Pothier. She retired after 30 years from the former SNET telephone company in 1985.

Anne was awarded Woman of the Year in 1989 by the Emblem Club of West Haven. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed the beach.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two stepdaughters, Linda A. Urtel of Hamden and Deborah Zacarelli and her husband Derry of Clinton; four beloved grandchildren, Eric Urtel and his wife Andrea Torre of Wallingford and Vincent, Jason, and Ashlyn Zacarelli of Clinton; two beloved great-grandchildren, Erica and Joseph Urtel of North Haven; her sister Phyllis and husband Louis Cottreau of Nova Scotia; her brother Edward Pothier, also of Nova Scotia; many nieces and nephews; several sisters-in-law; and a brother-in-law. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret Comeau.

Her funeral service was held on Nov. 2 at the Beecher & Bennett-Taylor Funeral Home, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Ave., Norwalk, CT 06854, or call 1-800-227-2345.
