07/09/2012 12:30 PMAngelina DiGiacomo LaPorta, 85, formerly of Gorham Ave., Hamden, died peacefully on July 4 at the Hospital of St. Raphael, with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Pasquale LaPorta. Angelina was born in Cusano Mutri, Italy, on Sept. 25, 1926, daughter of the late Andrea and Elisabetta Crocco DiGiacomo. Angelina was devoted to her religion and to her patron Saint Anthony.
She is survived by her daughter, Anna A. LaPorta and Anna’s husband Joseph Balsamo, MD of Clinton. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Rocco A. Crocco and his wife Maria of Hamden; two grandchildren, Marisa and Cristina Crocco; and four siblings, Tonia Quattrociocchi of Canada, and Grazia, Luigi, and Antonio DiGiacomo, all of Italy. She was predeceased by her daughter, Maria C. Crocco, and her brother, Giuseppe DiGiacomo.
Her funeral procession left the North Haven Funeral Home on July 9 for a mass of Christian burial at Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment took place in the Beaverdale Memorial Park Mausoleum.
