01/03/2012 11:00 PMBeverly A. Eldridge, 86, of Branford, died peacefully at home on Jan. 1. She was the loving and devoted wife of 67 years to Wesley Eldridge. Beverly was born in New Haven on May 21, 1925, daughter of the late Matilda Freeman.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Judy Slaughter; three grandchildren, Maurice W. Perry, Terena B. Bell, and Terry Bell, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Montajah Beard; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Clarence E. Freeman.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service on Friday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m., at the Community Baptist Church, 143 Shelton Ave., New Haven, and may call prior to the funeral from 9 to11 a.m. Burial will follow in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
