Richard Alan Zielinski, 64, Branford


Richard Alan Zielinski, 64, of Branford, died in New Haven on Nov. 4. He was the husband of 37 years to Rita Pace Zielinski. Richard was born in New Haven on Jan. 20, 1947, son of the late Walter L. Zielinski, Sr. and Pauline Stemborski Zielinski. He was a graduate of East Haven High School and Sacred Heart University, class of 1968. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Richard served as a scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 428. He had also worked for McCrelis Welding Supply in Stamford, Air Technology, and most recently for S.L. Cooke of Branford.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, David Zielinski, and his daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Brian Myers, all of Raleigh, North Carolina. In addition, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Dolores Zielinski of North Branford, as well as many other family members and friends who love him dearly and will miss him deeply.

Friends may call Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, 749 East Main St., Branford, CT 06405. See online memorial @ www.wsclancy.com.
