11/05/2010 12:00 AMBarbara Sturges Potter, 85, of Boca Raton, Florida, and Lanphier Cove, Branford, died Nov. 3 at the Masonicare in Wallingford. She was the wife of the late Robert Roy Potter. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on Oct. 7, 1925, daughter of the late Clifford and Christine Hammons Sturges. Barbara had worked as the manager of the former Barry Cooper Gift Shop and later in purchasing for the Country Day Care Center in Boca Raton, Florida.
She is survived by three children, Linda Reilly and her husband Thomas of Wallingford, Richard S. Potter and his wife Kyle of Wallingford, and Robert R. Potter II and his wife Margherita of League City, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Erin and Sean Reilly of Wallingford, Evan and Austin Potter, also of Wallingford, Kamaryn Potter of New York City, and Lisa and Robert R. Potter III of Texas, as well as a sister, Linda Petrucci of Manchester. She was predeceased by two siblings, Christine Dorr and Clifford Sturges, Jr.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 11:30 a.m. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, 33 N. Plains Industrial Rd., Wallingford, CT 06492.
