Carol Holroyd Minor, 82, of Madison passed away at her home on May 23.
Carol was predeceased by her father George; her mother Marian; her sister Faye; and her longtime partner, Al Poirier. She is survived by her brother George (Skip) Holroyd; her sister Lisa Champagne; her two children, Kimberly Weigel and William Minor; her six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Carol loved her friends and family. She enjoyed the many gatherings, including cookouts at the cottage; Block Island bridge parties; Florida holidays with Al; shish kebob at her sister’s; breakfast at Denny’s with her friends; sibling dinners; Poirier family brunches; New Year’s trips to Canada at the Manoir du Lac Delage; and especially the family Christmas tree excursions.
Carol was an avid bridge player who attained a Life Master status; she participated in many bridge tournaments, and continued to play in multiple weekly bridge games with her friends until her death. Carol loved to garden and took pride in her deck plantings, tomato plants, and especially her dahlias.
Carol was loved and will be greatly missed.
A private memorial will be held at a later date for close friends and family.
