Mary Agnes Short Paradis, 97, was welcomed into this world by her loving parents Christopher and Cecilia Cain Short on May 15, 1920, in New Haven, and departed on Nov. 8 in Guilford.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 72 years, John Paul Paradis, and by her brothers Henry and Frank Short. She leaves her children and their families including, Carol and Casey Pilis (Clinton); Thomas and Karen Paradis (Portland, Maine); Surashri William Paradis (Queens, New York); Nancy and Robert Janicki (East Haven); Susan and Clifford Gregory (Wales, Massachusetts); James Paradis (Guilford); Patricia and Daniel Chase (Cape Elizabeth, Maine); Michael and Deborah Paradis (Auburn, Alabama); Mary and David Kelly (Guilford); and Reynaldo and Malou Roberto (Toronto, Canada). In addition, she leaves 26 grandchildren and their families and 24 great-grandchildren with two more on the way, as well as a sister, Cecilia Short Fortier, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Mary Agnes Short Paradis left the love of her heart with us to share.
Calling hours will be held at Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford, on Nov. 13, 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford, on Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. followed by burial in St. George Cemetery. Luncheon will be served at St. George Church Hall after the burial. No flowers please due to allergies. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to SARAH, Inc., c/o The SARAH Foundation, 246 Goose Ln., Ste. 104, Guilford, CT 06437, or to a charity of your choice.
