Essex Garden Club Hosting Annual May Market Fundraiser

Press Release from Essex Garden Club

The Essex Garden Club is delighted to announce that its annual fundraiser, the May Market, is scheduled for Saturday, May 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Essex Town Park on Main Street. This much-anticipated event not only supports the club's mission, but it also offers local citizens the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of beautiful plants and creative, handmade items produced by club members.

The May Market is a celebration of gardening and community spirit. Visitors can browse through a selection of perennials, annuals, herbs, and other plants most lovingly grown and nurtured by club members. In addition, the market will feature a range of handmade items, including garden decorations, accessories, and more, all of which showcase the talent and creativity of club members. Our “garden gurus” will be standing at the ready to answer customers’ gardening questions and make suggestions about plant care, garden design, garden growing tips, and much more.

One of the highlights of the May Market will be the “All Things Gardening” raffle that supports the club's scholarship fund. Customers who donate to the fund will have a chance to win one of five garden-related prizes. This exciting opportunity not only adds to the fun of the May Market event, but it also supports educational opportunities for local youth.

“We are thrilled to host the May Market once again and offer our community the chance to enjoy a day of gardening inspiration and fun," said Dagmar Miller, president of the Essex Garden Club. "This event not only supports our club's mission, but also provides a wonderful opportunity for our members to showcase their talents and creativity.”

Admission to the May Market is free, and all are welcome to attend. The event will take place rain or shine.

The Essex Garden Club is a 71-year-old organization dedicated to promoting gardening, horticulture, and conservation in the Essex community. The club offers a variety of programs and activities for its members, as well as educational opportunities for local youth.
