03/31/2024 07:03 AMThe victim of a fatal hit and run motor vehicle accident reported on March 28 in North Branford has been identified by police as David Horbal of North Branford.
Following notification of his family, North Branford Police Department shared the information on March 30 in a press release.
“Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences are with David's family and friends,” NBPD said.
The press release also stated police investigators continue to follow all leads as they process all of the evidence obtained from the scene and surrounding area of the accident, which involved an unknown vehicle which left the scene.
The Foxon Road accident location at the East Haven town line was closed for an extended period of time on March 28 as police and the South Central Regional Accident investigation unit investigated the scene.
According to NBPD, a 911 call came into the North Branford Communications Center at 7:10 a.m. on March 28 reporting an injured person in the area of 97 Foxon Road. Police, Fire and medical personnel were dispatched, at which point responders located the descendant, who appeared to have been struck by an unknown vehicle.
