The blaze broke out at approximately 8:30 p.m., according to information shared by the Bishop family. The Little Red Barn is situated on the lot at Bishops Orchards Farm Market, 1355 Boston Post Road. The market did not experience any damage.
In a post on Facebook, the Bishop family said they were grateful to share that no one was injured or hurt, including nearby animals kept on the property, which is a popular draw for its seasonal attractions and as a focal point for scheduled, seasonal Little Red Barn venue gatherings. The Bishop family said the immediate future of the Little Red Barn is uncertain.
“We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Guilford Fire Department, Branford Fire Department and Madison Fire Department, along with the Guilford Police Department for their swift response. We are so fortunate to have these fine men and women serving our town(s),” the family shared. “While it will take some time for our family and staff to absorb the shock, we appreciate our community's support as we navigate this difficult time. Stay tuned for updates as we work to rebuild.”
The Bishop family also noted the retail market, which was closed for the Easter holiday, was not affected and will reopen on Monday, April 1 for normal business hours.
