On Feb. 27, North Branford’s brand-new Veterans Service Commission held its first organizational meeting. The new commission was created by the Town Council to provide support and recognition to the town's veteran community with the aim of creating events and promoting awareness and recognition for those who have served our nation in the Armed Forces.

This new commission will begin to address a number of action items, including the creation of a Veterans Hall of Fame for the town, obtaining Purple Heart Community designation for North Branford, as well as other planned memorials and ceremonies.

The commission members are Zakary Poston (chair), Dan Camp (vice chair), Bob Viglione (alternate), Charles Larkins, Tony Catapano, and Hamlet Hernandez.
