Press Release from North Haven Historical Society

The North Haven Historical Society is looking for some help from the community in an effort to preserve the legacy of Heaton Field.

Heaton Field was the first home of North Haven Little League, and it was located on land that is now occupied by the North Haven Memorial Library. This plot of land was donated to the Library Association by the Heaton Family, whose family home stood just south of the ballfield. The Library Association graciously allowed North Haven Little League to build a ballpark at that site until it was needed for the present library building.

Here is how you can help. The North Haven Historical Society would like to expand its archives to include photos, news articles, and other memorabilia related to Heaton Field and the teams that played there. The North Haven Historical Society is requesting that anyone who has these types of photos to please bring them to the society on Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. The North Haven Historical Society will scan items that people wish to keep and accept donations of items that people would like to give. Digital images and documents can be emailed to nhhistsoc@gmail.com.
