Press release from House Republicans Office, CT General Assembly

On Jan. 23, House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora (R, 86) visited North Branford’s Stanley T. Williams Community Center for a seniors’ brunch, where he discussed topics that could be subjects of debate during the 2024 legislative session.

The 2024 legislative session in Hartford begins on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Much of the talk focused on the controversial effort to ban the sales of new gas-powered vehicles. Public safety concerns, such as car break-ins and “street takeovers,” were also issues covered during the mid-morning event. The significant burden of taxes in Connecticut was another subject of discussion, as well as transportation needs among seniors in Connecticut.

Candelora, who represents the 86th District, serving residents of North Branford, Durham, East Haven, and Guilford, urges constituents with questions, ideas, or concerns about state government to contact his office at vincent.candelora@housegop.ct.gov or 860-240-8700.
