11/16/2023 12:00 AMWe all know that we are a community that cares and supports the critical services of our nonprofits. The Community Foundation of Middlesex County (CFMC) witnesses this every day, and we applaud all those who step up to lend a hand wherever and whenever it’s needed.
Let’s consider one example of that caring spirit and something that impacts all of us in Middlesex County: Hunger. It isn’t a happy topic. No community is immune. Food insecurity continues to rise across our local communities. And yet, we have tremendous resources – people like you who are determined to make a difference and local nonprofit organizations that provide the critical services and products to help those in need.
Throughout the year, we work with donors from all walks of life who are passionate about supporting a variety of essential services and programs. Thanks to your generosity, we are able to provide grants to a wide array of food pantries right in your backyard – from town-run food banks to small community-based food pantries at local churches and centers, to region-wide, dedicated food bank organizations and even to arts organizations. Together, we are rallying around this important issue, and we are helping to stock food and other basic supplies. As we enter the holiday season, we are also honored to once again partner with Liberty Bank and local Rotary Clubs to help ensure that more families in the region have a Thanksgiving meal to enjoy and that food pantry shelves are stocked in preparation for the winter months. This funding project is just one of many activities that illustrate the power of partnership and community collaboration. When we work together, so much more can be achieved. So many families can be helped.
