In honor of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Murtha of Essex, Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley (VNLV) has awarded its annual scholarship to two local high school seniors. This year’s scholarship recipients are Katherine Roberts and Catherine Minegar of Old Saybrook.
The scholarship was awarded based on academic achievement and extracurricular activities. An emphasis was placed on nursing in the selection process.
“We were impressed by both candidates’ exceptional qualities, dedication to their coursework, extracurricular activities, as well as their commitment to helping others,” said Susan Maxwell, the executive director of VLNV. “We are delighted to honor them as this year’s scholarship winners, and we wish them the best in their continued studies.”
With community healthcare growing, the VNLV knows that these talented individuals will meet the dynamic challenges we are facing in the healthcare industry. VNLV is proud to recognize the achievements of these fine young individuals.
