Press Release, Branford Fire Department

At 10:39 this morning, April 6, Branford Fire Department (BFD) was dispatched to 164 Alps Road, Plymouth Colony Condominiums Unit 208, for a reported structure fire. Arriving units found heavy fire in the chimney enclosure extending into the building. Firefighters rapidly deployed hose lines to cut off and knock down the fire limiting further damage.

A simultaneous search determined the unit to be unoccupied. The owner and their pets were located, uninjured, outside of the building.

The Fire Marshal is investigating. No firefighters were injured. Suppression units cleared the scene by 12:18 p.m.

BFD would like to thank our dispatchers as well as Branford Professional Firefighters Local 2533, East Haven Fire Department and Guilford Fire Departments who assisted.

Four separate medical incidents were handled by Branford and Guilford Fire Department ambulances during this time period.
