Arrest Made After Threatening Incident at North Haven High School

On Feb. 2, a School Resource Officer (SRO) at North Haven High School was made aware of a threat of violence written in a bathroom stall at the school. The two SROs at the high school immediately began to work with school staff and North Haven Police Department (NHPD) detectives to assist in further investigating what had occurred. Patrol personnel were advised, and an additional police presence was deployed to the school out of caution.

SROs remained at the high school into the late evening for after-hours activities and, on the morning of Feb. 3, an enhanced police presence was again deployed to the school. Detectives continued to work on this incident and, during the course of the investigation, a suspect was identified.

At approximately noon on Feb. 3, the investigation led to the arrest of a 14-year-old female for charges of threatening in the first degree, breach of peace in the second degree, and criminal mischief in the third degree. The NHPD has determined that there is no threat to students, staff, or visitors of the high school.
