NBPD Counting on Community Support for Bare Necessities Diaper Drive

Once again, North Branford Police Department (NBPD) is seeking tremendous community support for the annual Bare Necessities Law Enforcement Diaper Drive, Feb. 1 - Feb. 15. In a community that always comes through to support efforts of its police department, North Branford Chief of Police Kevin Halloran said a big boost in donations is the goal for North Branford Police Department’s (NBPD) participation in this year’s Shoreline Law Enforcement Diaper Drive.

The department is also spreading the news on its Facebook page.

“We’re really trying to reach out to the community,” said Halloran.

A post at the page notes North Branford citizens are always generous with donations to the drive, adding, “...with your help, we are hoping to have an even better year than we did last year, for an amazing cause.”

The 2023 Shoreline Law Enforcement Diaper Drive is a two-week effort that kicks off Wednesday, Feb.1 and runs through Sun. February 15. All donations of new diapers and baby wipes collected during the drive will help stock the shelves of non-profit Bare Necessities CT. Diapers in sizes 4 - 6 are needed most. All donated items are distributed to shoreline families in need.

Established in 2015, Bare Necessities CT is currently assisting 275 families across the shoreline. In 2021, 355,034 diapers were distributed, as well as 259,197 baby wipes.

Once again, NBPD is joining with neighboring law enforcement agencies in East Haven, Madison, Branford, Guilford, Clinton and Troop F in Westbrook in supporting the annual drive.

Diaper drive donations from the public are being accepted around the clock in the NBPD lobby at 260 Forest Road (Route 22).
