NMCC Celebrating Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.


North Madison Congregational Church, 1271 Durham Rd., Madison will celebrate the life and teachings of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. during a worship service and brunch on Sunday, Jan. 15. Worship begins at 10 a.m. and a brunch follows at 11:30 am.

Janée Woods Weber will be as a special guest speaker for the fifth year celebration. The theme of her presentation will be “Choosing Love and Courage: Lessons from Dr. King.” Woods Weber is an activist, advocate, facilitator, and trainer for social justice issues. She is the executive director of Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund (CWEALF), a statewide nonprofit organization that uses a justice and equity lens to advocate for under-resourced and marginalized women and girls in Connecticut. Weber is the first Black women to lead the organization, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2023.
