This event features a dynamic panel of septuagenarians, octogenarians, nonagenarians and centenarians. Let these panelists tell you about their life experiences

Dr. Margo Merin, the moderator of our panel of presenters, has a varied background of professional and life experiences. Her career encompassed working in the fields of mental health, education, and corporate business.

A senior herself, Dr. Merin is aware of the obstacles that can enter our lives as we age. Presently, Dr. Merin is giving motivational presentations to seniors insofar as confronting and managing the issues that become a part of our lives. Of considerable interest to Dr. Merin is bringing a message to seniors that we must dispel our societal thinking of the term "senior years" and the word "retired" - two synonyms for which are "elderly" and "resigned."

She believes that while circumstances within the aging process may cause our lives to become more circumscribed, even within these defined parameters, it is our thinking, and how we feel and act, that will allow us, as seniors, to embrace and experience our lives with meaning, relevance, vitality and hope.

Dr. Merin holds both a master's and a doctoral degree in social work, a master's degree in dance/movement therapy, and certifications in movement analysis and clinical group therapy. Currently, she is a community educator for the Alzheimer's Association, and the facilitator of a bereavement group at the Women and Family Life Center in Guilford. She is also in the process of writing a book for seniors, which she plans to have completed by the end of 2022.
