Detective Moynihan Retires from Branford PD
Branford Police Department (BPD) recognized and thanked Detective Patrick Moynihan upon his retirement Sept. 22, following a 34 year-career in law enforcement which included 14 with BPD.
“We wish him luck as he retires from us today,” BPD stated in message posted to the department’s Facebook page Sept. 22.
Detective Moynihan joined BPD after completeing 20 years of service and retirement from Waterbury Police Department.
“During his time here, in addition to working on many high profile cases, Detective Moynihan made sure he was always able to help out in any way he could, even if it was just backing up a patrol officer on an alarm. Detective Moynihan would also volunteer to help new officers on cases, give them guidance, and share the wisdom he’d gained in 34 years in law enforcement,” BPD stated.
“Today, 9/22/22, marks my final day as a law enforcement officer after 34 years,” said Moynihan, in a statement he asked BPD to share. “It’s been an honor and a pleasure to protective and serve the Town of Branford for the last 14 of those years.”
