Stony Creek Fife & Drum Corps hosts the 2022 National Muster this weekend in Branford, including a short route for a significant parade of all units stepping off on Meadow Street near the muster site on Hammer Field on Saturday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m.

Corps and vendors began gathering Friday to form camp at the muster site, Hammer Field on Meadow Street. A Friday night Tattoo was hosted by the Young Colonials Fife and Drum Corps. The muster concludes on Sunday, Aug. 21.

Special muster guests include the St. Mary's Prize Band from Limerick, Ireland.

Branford police ask residents to be cognizant of No Parking Signs during the course of the weekend, as well as temporary road closures and detours for what police described as a “short parade” at its Facebook post.

The parade will begin at the intersection of Hopson Avenue and Meadow Street, proceeding along Meadow Street to Montowese Street, then onto South Main Street, turning onto Eades Street to reach Hammer Field. The parade will enter the field across the baseball diamond (roped off) where the parade will end.

Each year, one muster is designated as the National Muster and is co-sponsored by the host corps and non-profit national group, The Company of Fifers & Drummers.

The Stony Creek Fife & Drum Corps and organizers of the event welcome the public to observe the parade and enjoy the event festivities, according to police. A beer tent run by Stony Creek Brewery will sell beer on the field (ages 21 and over). Food vendors will also be at the site, according to muster event details shared at https://companyoffifeanddrum.org
