North Branford Aug. 9 Primary Locations, Sample Ballots

North Branford voters registered as members of either the Democratic and Republican parties will go to the polls Tuesday, August 9 during primary races to help select Democratic and Republican candidates vying to be on the November 8, 2022 election ballot.

With incumbent CT Secretary of State Denise Merrill (D) not running for reelection, the Aug. 9 primary asks Democrats to choose among candidates Stephanie Thomas and Maritza Bond to be their November candidate. Republicans will choose among Dominic Rapini, Brock Weber or Terrie E. Wood.

As incumbent State Treasurer Shawn Wooden (D) isn’t running for reelection, the Aug. 9 primaries will determine which new Democratic candidate will face GOP State Treasurer candidate Harry Arora in November. Aug. 9 Democratic primary candidates for State Treasure are Erick Russell, Dita Bhargava and Karen DuBois-Walton.

Additionally, North Branford Republicans will vote on Aug. 9 to help select the GOP candidate who will run against incumbent U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal for CT’s 3rd District Congressional seat in November. Republican candidates on the Aug. 9 ballot are Themis Klarides, Leora R. Levy and Peter Lumaj.

North Branford’s 3 polling district sites will be open on Aug. 9 from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. for voters, including newly-formed District 3, created due to the state redistricting plan. District 3 was first utilized in the May 10, 2022 budget referendum question vote.
