Please Support Your Community News Site's COVID Coverage

The coronavirus crisis has nearly halted the local economy — including media advertising. That means local, independent news organizations such as ours must fight for our own survival while continuing to provide critical news and information as a public service during this unprecedented situation. If you believe local reporting is important and you're able to lend support during this pandemic, click here for info on making a tax-deductible donation.

North Branford educators recently gathered to honor their friend and colleague, Barbara Hutchinson. Hutchinson spent her entire career in the North Branford School system. She began teaching at William Douglas and moved to Stanley T. Williams in 1982. She retired after 35 years of educating the 2nd-grade students of North Branford. She passed away on Sept. 10, 2018 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Friends, colleagues, students, and parents can help honor Hutchinson by making a donation in her name to Read to Grow at or Read to Grow, 53 School Ground Road, Branford, CT, 06405.
