Long Island Sound 'Blue Plan' Public Meeting April 24 in Branford
The Blue Plan is a new paradigm in Connecticut's management of Long Island Sound that seeks to identify and protect Significant Human Use Areas and Ecologically Significant Areas, as we reduce conflict with future activities.
The plan development team, lead by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, invites you to join us at a free public meeting, hosted by the Town of Branford, Branford Land Trust and Thimble Island Brewing Company, to present on the Blue Plan and discuss how it may affect you; and invite comments to improve the final document. Your input will make a difference to the future of the Sound. This meeting is being offered to answer your questions and hear your concerns.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 6:30 p.m. at Thimble Island Brewing Company, 16 Business Park Drive in Branford.
The complete draft of the Long Island Sound Blue Plans is available online www.ct.gov/deep/lisblueplan, and we'd like to hear from you!
If you have any questions about the April 24 event, please contact Christian Fox, Blue Plan Outreach Coordinator at DEEP.BluePlanLIS@ct.gov or (203) 568-6307.
