The Essex Land Trust (ELT) will participate in the Source to Sea Clean Up on Friday, Sept. 22 with a clean up event at Essex’s Great Meadow at 9 a.m. The event, coordinated by ELT and sponsored by the Connecticut River Watershed Council, will also be conducted simultaneously by volunteers along the length of the river from Old Saybrook to Canada. Participants will meet for their assignment at the Essex Boat Club at the far end of the dirt road accessed between 143 and 145 River Road, the lane that also serves Pettipaug Yacht Club. Wear waterproof boots, bring gloves, and come rain or shine. Refreshments will be served. All ages and abilities are welcome. For more information, contact Jim Denham at 860-876-0306 or jgdenham@gmail.com.
