Peter Marinelli was installed as the president of the East Haven Lions Club on July 11 by Katherine Patterson, past district governor of the Connecticut Chapter of Lions Club. The East Haven Lions Club was chartered in September 2003. Its mission is to serve the East Haven community, as well as the world community. Also installed were First Vice President Corrine Larsen, Second Vice President Phillip Van Duesen, Secretary Sue Vigorito, and Treasurer Fran Burton.

In addition to contributing to various charities, the East Haven Lions Club sponsors town sports, helps those in need in the community, and provides eye screenings for the elementary schools and adults. The East Haven Lions Club has fundraisers to support its mission. Membership is always open. The club meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Twin Pines Dinner Meeting Room.
