The Exchange Club of Madison honored James Kim, the son of John and Michelle Kim, with the David Bell Scholarship Award as its March 2017 Youth of the Month. The Daniel Hand High School (DHHS) senior was nominated by the DHHS faculty and completed a competitive application.

Youth of the Month and Year Chairman David Bell presented James Kim with a $200 award and a commemorative Madison Exchange Club plaque. Kim is a high honors student, member of the National Honor Society and Lions Leo Club, president of Uganda Club, writer for “Kim’s Cuisine” in the DHHS student newspaper, member of the DHHS baseball team and Special Olympics Unified Basketball, and has received the Fairfield University Book and Social Studies Science and Literature Awards.

Kim has been awarded an Army ROTC Scholarship to Boston College, but he is still waiting to hear from the University of Pennsylvania, Villanova, UConn, and Northeastern.
