The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, Nov. 10

No arrests were made.

• A howling dog trapped in an empty in-ground pool was reported at 204 Stonehedge Lane at 12:10 p.m.

• The theft of a motor vehicle was investigated at 2730 Boston Post Road at 2:24 p.m.

• A fraud complaint was investigated at 1015 Boston Post Road at 2:49 p.m. A white female presented a fake ID at Shoreline Wine. She left in a vehicle bearing Connecticut plate AF77819 and was last seen heading westbound on Boston Post Road.

Friday, Nov. 11

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about harassment by phone was investigated at 440 Great Hill Road at 4:10 p.m.

• An MP3 player color blue with a black case was found on Orchard View Road at 4:32 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 12

No arrests were made.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 337 New England Road at 5:58 p.m. Black spray paint graffiti was sprayed on a stop sign.

Sunday, Nov. 13

• A 33 year-old woman of Middle Road was arrested at 12:10 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, two counts of risk of injury, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 49 year-old man of Cedar Hill Road was arrested at 8:24 p.m. and charged with threatening in the second degree and disorderly conduct.

• The theft of numerous Trump signs was reported at 776 Hoop Pole Road at 12:15 p.m. The owner replaced the smaller signs with a 7- by 10-foot sign.

• Harassment via “gang stalking” was investigated at 274 Church Street at 6:16 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 14

• A 36 year-old Madison man was arrested at 3:23 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Lovers Lane at 8:33 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 15

No arrests were made.

Wednesday, Nov. 16

No arrests were made.

• Harassment via suspicious text messages was investigated at 50 Christmas Hill Road at 10:18 a.m.

• A theft attempt from a motor vehicle was investigated at 181 Lakeside Drive at 10:25 a.m.

Thursday, Nov. 17

• A 44 year-old man of Flat Iron Road was arrested at 7:39 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer.

• An untimely death was investigated at 16 Willow Road at 7:45 a.m.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 1 Bailey Drive at 10:17 a.m.

• A report of possible animal cruelty was investigated on State Street at 12:55 p.m. Two dogs were left in a vehicle for at least 30 minutes, the caller reported.

• Criminal trespass was investigated on Old Whitfield Street at 3:47 p.m. Juveniles were laying on the train tracks.

• The theft of a license plate (a farm plate bearing number 51118) from a truck was investigated at 5051 Durham Road at 6:08 p.m.

• An unwanted person complaint was investigated at 20 Carter Drive at 9:51 p.m. An employee would not leave the premises of Brook & Whittle LTD.

• Harassment by phone was investigated at 274 Church Street at 9:53 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 18

• A 33 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 8:46 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

• A 41 year-old man of Soundview Road was arrested at 10:14 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

• Sudden death was reported at 2470 Boston Post Road at 4:54 a.m. An eldercare-giver was on the scene.

• A civil investigation was conducted on Maupas Road involving an ex-wife who failed to adhere to a custodial agreement at 9:18 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated at the Boston Terrace residential facilities at 10:49 a.m. A neighbor made comments to the complainant while the complainant was walking by the unit of the accused. The incident was related to an ongoing problem.

Saturday, Nov. 19

• A 26 year-old Bridgeport man was arrested at 6:33 p.m. and charged with criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, improper use of marker plate, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. He was also charged with failure to pay or plead a citation on an outstanding warrant.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 1120 Village Walk at 3:04 p.m.

• A dumping violation on Guilford Land Conservation Trust property was investigated at 5:01 p.m.

• A domestic dispute involving a roommate was investigated on Wauwinet Court at 6:54 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 20

No arrests were made.

• Harassment via a “gang stalking” letter placed in a mailbox was investigated at 35 George Street at 9:57 a.m.

• A complaint about fraud with a credit card was investigated at 90 Whispering Wood at 2:12 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 21

• A 46 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 6:13 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the first degree.

• A domestic dispute involving a mother in law was investigated on the 1000 block of Long Hill Road at 7:44 a.m.

• A complaint about counterfeiting was investigated at 3:55 p.m. The owner of the Little Store reported receiving a counterfeit $50 bill.

• A theft was investigated at 1716 Long Hill Road at 9:40 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 22

• A 45 year-old man of Durham Road was arrested at 8:49 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and threatening in the second degree.

• A theft was investigated at 201 Granite Road at 11:14 a.m.

• Neighbor trouble was investigated on the 3200 block of Durham Road at 7:15 p.m.

No arrests were made.

Thursday, Nov. 24

• A 20 year-old man of West Lake Avenue was arrested at 3:02 a.m. and charged with larceny in the fourth degree.

• A 26 year-old Haddam man was arrested at 9:32 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree and burglary in the third degree.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 52 Granite Road at 10:58 a.m. A vehicle was damaged.

• An animal nuisance was investigated at 82 Horseshoe Road at 12:54 p.m. A red fox, possibly sick, was in the roadway.

• An animal nuisance was investigated at 900 Boston Post Road at 6:42 p.m. A large black Newfoundland was in the parking lot.

Friday, Nov. 25

No arrests were made.

• An animal nuisance was reported at 56 Barker Hill Drive at 11 a.m. A squirrel was in the house.

• Neighbor trouble was investigated on Fitch Hill Road at 4:47 p.m. The complainant has problems with the neighbor’s brother who speeds on the road.

• A possible suicide via overdose was investigated on Race Hill Road at 8:28 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 26

• A 40 year-old man of Great Hill Road was arrested at 3:55 a.m. and charged with evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident) and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 48 year-old Los Angeles man was arrested at 12:43 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree.

• A welfare check was made on Farmview Drive at 1:07 p.m.

• A dumping violation was investigated on Weatherly Trail at 3:39 p.m. Last week a stove was left, this week kitchen cabinets were dumped. The issue is an ongoing problem.

• A mattress was found in the roadway on River Street at 6:15 p.m. The owner removed the mattress.

• Four males were reported walking southbound on Durham Road at 9:32 p.m. The youths were picked up by a parent.

Monday, Nov. 28

No arrests were made.

• A possible harassment complaint was investigated 522 Boston Post Road at 11:52 a.m. A female complainant reported that an employee of Valvoline contacted her after she purchased an oil change. The complainant wanted the incident documented.

• A dead cat was reported in the roadway in front of 1000 Long Hill Road at 6:01 p.m.

• An injured owl was reported on the shoulder of Squaw Lane across from Orcutt Drive at 8:48 p.m. The owl flew away without incident when the officer arrived.

• A domestic dispute was investigated at 9:58 p.m. The complainant reported that her son’s partner was talking to people who were not present, frightening the family, and making threats. The complaint thought the person might be on drugs or having a psychotic episode.

No arrests were made.

• An opossum was reported in a Dumpster at 995 Boston Post Road at 1:11 p.m.

• A front license plate was reported missing from the front of vehicle at 248 Sam Hill Road at 4:01 p.m. The missing plate bears Connecticut registration number 216TNV.

Thursday, Dec. 1

• A 20 year-old man of Providence, Rhode Island was arrested at 10:38 p.m. and charged with criminal impersonation and possession of narcotics.

• A brown, black, and white dog was observed roaming on South Fair Street at 11:09 a.m.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 105 Prospect Avenue at 2 p.m. As a result of the fraud, phone numbers had to be changed and neighbors were informed of the incident by police.

• Theft of a motor vehicle was investigated at 500 Route 80 at 4:56 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 2

• A 23 year-old Madison man was arrested at 3:04 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 56 year-old man of Landons Way was arrested at 7:05 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a minor.

• Harassment was investigated on Circle Beach Road at 12:23 p.m. The complaint reported receiving harassing text messages.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 810 Loop Hole Road at 1:29 p.m. The complainant received a phone call about bogus lottery winnings.

• A theft of items from a motor vehicle was investigated at 184 Little Meadow Road at 2:04 p.m.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 900 Boston Post Road at 3:04 p.m.

• A complaint about possible Internet fraud was investigated at 76 East Avenue at 3:50 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 200 block of Moose Hill Road at 6:01 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 3

No arrests were made.

• Criminal trespass and illegal dumping were investigated on Cambridge Way at 8:34 a.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 110 Podunk Road at 8:36 a.m. A mailbox was knocked down. This was a repeat incident.

• A theft was investigated at 935 West Lake Avenue at 9:35 a.m. Money was taken from the complainant’s home.

• Harassment was investigated at 105 Prospect Avenue at 10:26 a.m. The complainant received harassing telephone calls.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at Walmart, 900 Boston Post Road, at 1:48 p.m. The accused was an 81 year-old woman with no identification.

Sunday, Dec. 4

No arrests were made.

• A theft was investigated at 2641 Long Hill Road at 10 a.m. Batteries were taken from the complainant’s garage sometime during the prior two weeks.

Monday, Dec. 5

• A 41 year-old Branford man was arrested at 1:43 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and burglary in the third degree.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Rosemary Lane. The complainant had a verbal argument with her boyfriend and he was on his way back to the residence. She wanted an officer to be present.

Tuesday, Dec. 6

• A 52 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 11:37 a.m. and charged with criminal trespass in the second degree and larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 44 year-old woman of Saginaw Trail was arrested at 6:55 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, risk of injury to a minor, and interfering with an officer.

• Neighbor trouble was investigated on Grist Mill Circle at 9:12 a.m. A neighbor pulled up the complainant’s fence.

• Harassment was investigated at 105 Prospect Avenue at 11:42 a.m. The complaint continued to receive harassing telephone calls, as per an earlier investigation.

• Harassment was investigated on Granite Road at 2:21 p.m. The complainant reported receiving harassing phone calls. The accused was posted from making contact with the complainant by police.

Wednesday, Dec. 7

No arrests were made.

• Neighbor trouble involving illegal dumping was investigated on the 500 block of Saw Mill Road at 1:52 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on the 400 block of Mulberry Point Road at 3:09 p.m. The complainant was distraught over a phone caller stating that her car was going to be auctioned. Police learned that call was in regard of a buy-back program and was not a scam.
