06/17/2022 12:00 AMOn May 19, two students were honored at a pizza party given by Westbrook Emblem Club #535. Delanie Fresco-Hawes of East Lyme High School and Kevin Kilcomons of Waterford High School received this year’s academic scholarships of $1,000 each. They are high school seniors and were chosen among highly qualified applicants.
The club members hold fundraising events throughout the year, including a fashion show and a wine tasting event in order to raise money for the scholarships. The Westbrook Emblem Club is a civic-minded group of ladies who give back to the community with scholarships and donations to other charitable projects.
