At age 125, Branford's historic James Blackstone Memorial Library has become a local and state landmark building. Beginning Friday, March 4, the library joined with other iconic buildings and structures around the world lighting up in the colors of the Ukrainian flag.  The effort joins those of cities and towns across the globe shining the flag's colors in a blue and yellow glow to show support and solidarity for the people and country of Ukraine following Russia's invasion on February 24.

On Tues. March 8, a group of Branford women will to gather on the library steps in recognition of International Women's Day and wearing blue and yellow support of Ukraine. They will stand for 13 minutes to mark each day of the war (see related story).

Branford's Town Hall is also lit in blue and yellow to show support for Ukraine.
