On Jan. 10, members of the Old Saybrook Support Staff Union of American Federation of State, County, & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 1303-278, met with Rays for Rams Chairman and Old Saybrook Selectman Scott Giegerich to make a $1,000 donation toward the lighting of the high school turf field. Support Staff Union President Jonathan Paradis thought it was a great project for our local to get behind and contribute, too. Each year, the union looks to find a local charity or project to support. In the past, the union has made donations to the HEAT project, which helps families in need heat their homes.

Paradis said, “It is a great way for the union’s membership to continue to support our community, student athletes, and families. “

Rays for Rams is a group of Old Saybrook residents committed to enhancing positive experiences for students and families that believes that the installation of lights at the Old Saybrook High School Turf Field will provide positive experiences for student athletes and families for decades to come.
