No Arrests Yet in Guilford BB Vandalism Incidents

Police Chief Butch Hyatt said that the investigation into who vandalized a number of homes during an incident at the November 2021 remains ongoing. At least six homes located on or around the Town Green had windows broken by a non-firearm weapon on the evening of the town’s tree lighting ceremony.

According to Hyatt, the detectives on the case are still pursuing leads and processing evidence and remain confident that they will be able to locate the person or persons responsible for these incidents.

“Detectives are still working with the victims in this matter to recover any of the evidence that may not have been easily recoverable at the initial time of the investigation,” Hyatt said. “Items have been sent to the lab, so we’re certainly waiting for anything that may come out of that.”

Several people, including children, were home and in the rooms where and when the windows were shot at. Hyatt reiterated that there are currently no suspects at this time, but he feels confident that the perpetrators will be caught.
