01/02/2022 11:00 PMBranford's "First Night 2022," a community event planned for Friday, January 7 to celebrate the new year, has been canceled, due to a rise in Covid positive cases. Branford Parks and Recreation Department made the announcement of its decision to cancel the event Monday Jan. 3, with the following message:
"Due to the major uptick of Covid positive cases, and with due regard to the safety and health environment within the town, Branford's First Night 2022 event scheduled for this Friday, January 7. has been canceled. Originally slated to be held on the Branford Town Green from 6 -7:30 p.m., the event committee will look into hosting a special town celebration when the outbreak of cases improve making it possible for a future event."
