What led you to seek this office?

Upon retirement after 20 years as a classroom (Social Studies) teacher for the New Haven Public Schools, I felt I had something to offer my home town! I'm a firm believer in giving back!

What are your qualifications for this position?

As stated, I have served in the BOE for one term and my experience in the classroom have given me an understanding of what is needed to provide our faculty and students with what is needed to provide a quality education.

What do you see as the top three issues or priorities for this position?

Attracting and retaining quality educators.

Raising test scores.

Chronic absenteeism.

How has the district handled the COVID-19 crisis so far, and what changes or adjustments, if any, would you like to see going forward?

East Haven was one of a very few school districts in our area to remain open throughout the pandemic. Students we're provided with the option of in school or distance learning and I believe we did a very good job of providing support during an unprecedented time.

I would like to see an end to students having to wear masks in school and I believe this will be happening soon!
