Much to Celebrate at Westbrook Historical Society Tea

The Westbrook Historical Society (WHS) sponsored an afternoon tea on Sept. 12 at the Captain Stannard House, South Main Street, Westbrook. The event was catered by Jackie Blomberg with a donation from the Elks Club. In keeping with the historical part of the organization, a speaker made a presentation about the sea captains and their homes in town. Proprietor Jim Brewster talked about the inn, with a little levity about the resident ghost.

The Westbrook Historical Society has a build date of 1870. In addition, WHS honoring its lifetime member Margaret “Bucky” Buckridge, who will celebrate her 102nd birthday on Friday, Sept. 24.
