07/21/2021 12:00 AMIn response to the COVID-19 Delta Variant spread, the East Shore District Health Department (ESDHD) is conducting Pop-Up Wellness Clinics/ Vaccination sites in and around the district. Schools are looking to re-open in the fall with full, in-person education and our residents are looking forward to more in-person activities/events and workplaces. It is important for the safety of all our communities that everyone gets their vaccination.
ESDHD wants to remind its residents that anyone 12 years and older needs to be vaccinated soon, in order to be fully vaccinated for the beginning of the school year. The Health Department is working with the towns of Branford, East Haven, North Branford, Guilford and Madison along with Griffin Health to offer all of the below options for everyone to receive their vaccination. ESDHD has set up vaccination clinics through each of the school systems in the District and in partnership with the towns of Madison and Guilford to vaccinate those who are school-age eligible.
Many of our public pop-up clinics for the Covid will include our new and innovative ESDHD Public Health Mobile Clinic. Our public health staff will provide health services and education to promote wellness throughout the community. Each clinic will bring a variety of services, some of which may include Blood pressure screenings, blood glucose and total cholesterol checks, nutrition information, ticks and mosquito protection, opioid prevention strategies, and much more.

East Haven Town Green, 100 River Street East Haven; Daily from July 12 to July 31, 1 - 7 p.m.
The Madison Surf Club, 70 Surf Club Road, Madison; Wednesday July 21, 2 - 6 p.m.
North Branford Parks & Recreation Center, 1332 Middletown Ave. Northford; Saturday July 24, 9 -11:30 a.m.
Guilford On the Green, 79 Whitfield Street, Guilford; Tuesday July 27, 4:30 -7:30 p.m. (Rain Location: Guilford Parks and Recreation Center - 32 Church Street).
Stony Creek Brewery, 5 Indian Neck Ave., Branford, Saturday July 31 and Saturday August 21, 1 - 7 p.m.

Those who are 12 -17 years old are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine that is being provided at our clinics by Griffin Health. The Pfizer vaccine requires 2 vaccinations 3 weeks apart. The Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines will also be available. Please note Moderna vaccine requires 2 vaccinations given 4 weeks apart. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine only requires one vaccination. Both the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccine are only authorized by the FDA for persons 18 years and older.
The following shows when 12–17-year-olds should get vaccinated:
First Dose on July 19; Second Dose on or after August 9; I am ready for school August 23.
First Dose on July 20; Second Dose on or after August 10; I am ready for school August 24.
First Dose on July 21; Second Dose on or after August 11; I am ready for school August 25.
First Dose on July 22; Second Dose on or after August 12; I am ready for school August 26.
