Matthew Walker, 38, has been identified as the deceased active shooter who police later found dead of a self-inflicted wound on April 13 in Branford. Walker was found dead following a 7-hour stand-off which put many citizens in danger and included an early afternoon barrage of fire and a gunfight between police and Walker, who shot multiple rounds from a second-floor vantage at 241 Main St.  Walker's identity was released following the completion of an autopsy by the State Medical Examiner's Office on April 14.

Earlier on April 14, Branford Police held a press conference releasing information on the incident and on what had been gathered, to date, as part of the early and on-going investigation (see related story).
