State Police Investigating Report of Armed Robbery Attempt in Chester


Connecticut State Police responded to a 4:10 a.m. call on March 28 at from 70 Goose Hill Road in Chester regarding two males attempting to break into cars, according to a police report filed by Trooper Trainee Robert Coyne of Troop F.

“The caller reported that the males attempted to rob him at gun point before running off. The two males were described as Black males approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing masks and dark clothing,” according to the report.

Coyne added that “video surveillance later revealed that one of the males shot two rounds toward the victim as he attempted to flee inside his house.”

In a Facebook post, the Town of Chester said, “Our constables were on scene along with state police and canines and the investigation has been assigned to the CSP major crimes unit.”

The post went on to state that similar incidents had been reported on March 28 in Tylerville and Westbrook.

A Troop F spokesperson declined to comment what actions were being taken regarding the prevalence of car break-ins in the area.
