Essex Library Association Celebrates Take the Library to Your Child Day

The Essex Library Association is celebrating Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, Feb. 6. This annual festivity is in its 10th year and is celebrating in 2021 with a new twist and a new name: Take the Library to Your Child Day!

“Take the Library to Your Child is a wonderful way during this pandemic year for families to bond over their mutual love of the library and its offerings,” said Children’s and Teen Services Librarian Christina Carpino. “Going to the library is a free, fun, and enriching activity for children of all ages. For 2021, we’ve reimagined this program to stay safely connected to our patrons during the pandemic.”

The Essex Library will offer a variety of ways to participate, including Virtual Storytime at 10 a.m., a special Take and Make craft, downloadable activity packets, and a photo contest. Non-perishable donations will be accepted at the library throughout the month of February on behalf of Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries.

More information on this event and others can be found on the library’s website youressexlibrary.org.
