A surprise birthday drive-by parade was arranged for Carmine “Chick” Riccitelli on Nov. 29. Riccitelli, who turned 90 on Nov. 30, has been an East Haven resident for 60 years and is an Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1952.

The parade included an appearance by the East Haven Fire Department Truck 4 as well as friends and family, many of them driving by in decorated Jeeps. The Big White Birthday Truck stopped in front of the house to play some Frank Sinatra tunes as the line of cars drove by with people waving and saying “happy birthday.” Here, Riccitelli’s daughter Linda Houde takes a video and photos on her phone as her brother Carmine Riccitelli, Jr., Riccitelli, husband Ron Houde, and mother Marie Riccitelli smile and wave to the cars passing by.
