Westbrook Seeks Input on POCD Strategies

Through Sunday, Oct. 4, Westbrook residents and other interested persons will have an opportunity to give feedback to the town about specific strategies for the future.

The online survey is part of the process of updating Westbrook’s 2011 Plan of Conservation and Development. The survey follows up from a community survey conducted in the spring of 2020 and listening sessions conducted over the spring and summer for local boards, commissions, and organizations. Now, this survey builds on those results and asks residents to give feedback on different strategies which came out of the earlier survey and meetings.

The survey, which is being conducted by the Plan Update Committee, can be accessed from the town website westbrookct.us.

The Plan Update Committee will incorporate the survey results into the first draft of the 2021 Plan of Conservation and Development, which will be prepared this fall. The Plan of Conservation and Development is an advisory document used by the Planning Commission and other town agencies to support key strategic initiatives.

“The plan is an important document which will be used to guide future conservation and development activity over the next decade and beyond,” said Marilyn Ozols, chair of the Planning Commission.

Westbrook residents are encouraged to participate in the survey to help ensure that the Plan of Conservation and Development reflects community goals.
